The Prison Ministry of Lighthouse Christian Community started some 11 years ago under its Evangelism Department. Its mandate is Matthew 25:36 ” …… I was in prison, and you came to me. ” The ministry brings the gospel of the Lord Jesus Christ to the inmates in prisons and jails in south Manila where the church is located. Today, volunteer workers conduct discipleship class and bible studies every week at the following facilities: National Women’s Correctional, Paranaque City Jail, Las Pinas City Jail, Tunasan Muntinlupa City Jail and San Pedro Laguna City Jail.
More recently (starting July 2011), the ministry was extended to the jail management, staff and jail officers through the Values Formation Seminars conducted once a month at theParanaque City Jail.

The Ministry also conducts worship service every month where the inmates themselves lead in singing praise and worship songs to God.

Aside from the regular spiritual thrust, the Prison Ministry also conducts medical missions (in partnership with other organizations such as Philippine Charity Sweepstake and Operation Blessing) and livelihood trainings at these correctional facilities.

The ministry also conducts livelihood and arts lessons for the inmates from time to time as part of their tranformation program.
One project of the ministry that is still in the drawing board is the setting up of a halfway house where newly freed inmates are prepared to face life anew in the world outside of their prison cells. As this project involves a large amount of resources, sponsors are welcome to participate in this project.
